What exactly is taken off the wall when an AC is moved?
The indoor unit comes off its wall bracket, the outdoor unit is lifted off its mount or base, and the pipes running between them and the metal brackets holding the outdoor unit are all collected. If the pipes are clipped to an outside wall, those clips come off too so the pipes are not bent. Send a photo of both units and the pipe run on WhatsApp so we know what needs preparing before the visit.
What do I do at home before the team arrives to take the AC down?
Switch the unit off well before the appointment so the body has time to cool. Clear the space in front of the indoor unit, move any furniture or curtains close to it, and make sure the outdoor unit is reachable whether it sits on a roof, a balcony or a side bracket. Remove anything hanging near the indoor unit that could get in the way, and decide which wall in the new place you want the unit fitted to.
How do I choose where to put the indoor unit in the new place?
Pick a wall from which the drain pipe and connections can reach the outside without a long run, and make sure it faces a space the pipes can pass through. Keep the unit away from direct heat sources and leave clear space in front of it for airflow. Measure the wall height and width, then send a photo of the wall you have in mind on WhatsApp so we can check whether it will work before the visit.
Will the outdoor unit get knocked about because it is so heavy?
The outdoor unit is the heaviest part and the one most exposed to knocks, so it is wrapped in stretch film with cardboard corner guards before lifting to protect its corners and outer grille. It is carried upright so nothing presses on the internal fan or outer grille. If the unit is mounted somewhere hard to reach, let us know when you send the photos on WhatsApp.
Is moving a window AC different from moving a split unit?
Yes. A window AC is a single heavy box removed from a wall or window opening; the opening in the new place must be measured before the move to confirm the unit will fit, and condensation water inside must be drained before it is lifted out. A split unit has two separate parts joined by pipes with their own brackets, so the work is different at almost every step. Each type has its own service with the details matched to what you have.
Can I move just one AC without moving all my furniture?
Yes. The service takes one unit or more depending on what you have, and there is no need to move the rest of your furniture at the same time. Send a photo of the unit on WhatsApp with the pick-up and drop-off addresses and tell us whether it is a split or a window unit. The quote depends on the number of units and their type.
What should I photograph before the unit is taken down?
Photograph the indoor unit from the front and from the side, the point where the pipes enter the wall, and the outdoor unit and its bracket from more than one angle. If the pipes run along an outside wall and are visible, photograph that run as well. These photos guide the refitting in the new place and show us before the visit anything that may need extra preparation.
