How does the removal and installation work?

Questions about window AC

How do I know the opening in my new home will fit my window AC?

Measure the width and height of the opening in the new home before you move, and compare them with the dimensions on the label on the side of the unit. Send the photos and measurements on WhatsApp and we tell you whether the opening fits or needs adjustment.

What do I clear in the room before the window AC is taken out?

Switch the unit off before the appointment and let it cool and dry fully. Move furniture and curtains away from the wall under the opening to clear the path. If the unit is at a height that needs a ladder, make sure there is enough space in front of the opening.

Can the frame or the edges of the opening be damaged when the unit comes out?

The edges can be affected if the old frame is bonded with silicone or plaster. Before the appointment, photograph the frame and the edges and send the image on WhatsApp, so we know the right way to remove it and what may need attention after the unit comes out.

Is a window unit too heavy to carry by hand?

Window units are heavy enough that carrying one alone is not advisable. They are moved by the dyna truck and the pickup, and carried upright where possible, because laying the unit on its side can affect it. Send a photo of your unit on WhatsApp and we confirm how it should be carried.

How do I make sure the unit will sit level and not rattle after it is fitted in the new opening?

A stable fit depends on filling the gaps around the frame with foam or the right sealing material and fixing the frame on both the inside and the outside. Photograph the new opening before the appointment so we know what the fitting needs.

How is a window AC different from a split AC when it comes to moving?

A window unit is one piece that comes out of a wall or window opening and is carried whole. A split has an indoor unit, an outdoor unit and pipes connecting them, which is a different job covered by a separate service.
